- In 1959, a divorced mom named Roberts, living in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her two young daughters (ages 3 and 4), met a man named Charles Wegman. He said he was a photographer and she and her sister briefly worked for him.
Roberts unexpectedly left town with Wegman on November 3rd, leaving her daughters behind. She sent a short letter from Baltimore three days later, saying she was fine, but that was the last anyone heard from her.
Her sister searched everywhere for her, but found no trace after 1959. The FBI learned the man was actually named Charles Dennison, but couldn’t provide any more information. Roberts’ daughters went to an orphanage and then foster care. The case is still a mystery, and her family is desperately hoping to find out what happened to her. Maryland police are still investigating.
