Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Blonde hair, blue/hazel eyes. Brandi has two three- to four-inch surgical scars and a round nickel-size surgical scar on her abdomen, as a well as a scar on her face. She may be using the last names Beer, Carino, Iwakiri, Iwokin, and/or Wise. Brandi goes by her middle name, Jondell, which some agencies spell “Jondel” or “Johndell.”

Details of Disappearance:

On March 30, 1977, Brandi and her younger half-sister, Tiffani, were abducted from their home in San Bernardino, California. Their mother, Beverly, was found murdered in the house. Their baby sister was unharmed.

A man resembling Brandi’s father, Roy Summers, was seen putting Tiffani into a gold Camaro. Roy had a history of violence against his wives (he’d been married seven times).

Police initially didn’t suspect Roy, but later found photos of the girls and their belongings in his Oregon home in 1979. He was arrested. There were also unconfirmed sightings of Roy and the girls in several states after the abduction.

Other people were also arrested:

* **Juanita “Tiny” Iwakiri:** Accused of helping Roy hide the girls at her daycare. Convicted in Tiffani’s case but later overturned.
* **Lee Allan Casner:** Charged as an accessory to the murder and kidnapping.
* **Karen Carino (Roy’s sister):** Charged as an accessory after the girls were reportedly seen at her home. The outcomes of Casner and Carino’s cases aren’t known.

Roy was also convicted of assaulting his wife, Connie Kohler, but wasn’t tried for Beverly’s murder and the girls’ abduction because key witness testimonies were obtained through hypnosis, which was later deemed inadmissible in court.

Brandi was small for her age. She called her grandmother Dona (or Donna) “Big Grandma,” and her grandfather was named Dick. Brandi was born in San Jose, California.

To this day, Brandi and Tiffani are still missing.
