- Details of Disappearance:
- In December 1996, Robby Ann Floyd and her children – Brent, Brenttany, and Sarena – along with her sister Jennifer, vanished from their Fayetteville, North Carolina home. A neighbor saw Robby rushing off in her blue van, saying she was going to Alabama to visit her sick father. A woman was with her, supposedly Robby’s mother, but her mother said she hadn’t seen Robby in years.
Robby’s husband, Jason (Shane), and their son Brandon stayed behind. Jason told police he spoke to Robby briefly after she left, but never saw her or the others again. He said she was staying at an Alabama motel. Jason and Robby had marital problems but seemed to have reconciled before the disappearance. They moved out of their home in February 1997, and Jason mentioned getting a divorce. Police don’t suspect Jason.
The family wasn’t reported missing until August 1998. Relatives in Alabama confirmed they never arrived. Robby’s mother said her daughter wouldn’t disappear willingly; she was planning to move her father to North Carolina in 1997 to care for him (he died in 1998).
There’s been no activity on anyone’s Social Security number since 1996, Robby never registered her van, and her driver’s license expired. The disappearance remains a mystery.
