- On September 26, 1990, Garmire vanished from a San Francisco neighborhood. Before disappearing, he gave away his house, wrote about suicide, and told a friend he’d make sure his body was never found if he killed himself. He left everything behind – clothes, motorcycle, boat – but his truck was found a few weeks later illegally parked in San Francisco. Someone used his credit cards after he disappeared, spending over $4,000, but it wasn’t his signature. Garmire liked hunting, hiking, and building boats. Police think he killed himself, but they never found his body and the case is still a mystery.
