- On August 29, 1996, a man named Deese rented a boat on Lake Tahoe in California. He was last seen at 1:15 p.m. That same day, at 8:00 p.m., his empty boat was found in very deep water (1000 feet). Despite a big search, nobody found Deese, and he’s never been seen or heard from again. He lived in Texas but was visiting family in Lake Tahoe when he disappeared. Police don’t know what happened to him, but they think he likely drowned.
