- Details of Disappearance:
- Joseph and his girlfriend Karin disappeared from St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands around October 2008. Joseph was from St. Thomas, but Karin was from the U.S. mainland and had only been living there for a year. They were jobless for a while and lived in Joseph’s car. They both got jobs – Karin at a cafe and Joseph at a grocery store – but vanished a few days later.
No one has heard from them since. Karin’s family wasn’t worried at first because she sometimes didn’t contact them. But when they didn’t hear from her after the holidays, they reported her missing in January 2009. Police investigating Karin’s disappearance found out about Joseph and he was also reported missing.
Police think foul play might be involved. In 2009, they found a woman’s body that may be Karin’s. The woman had been shot and had a necklace and a past arm injury similar to Karin’s. However, the body hasn’t been officially identified, and both Joseph and Karin’s disappearances remain mysteries.
