Details of Disappearance:
In September 2004, a woman named Cooper disappeared from her assisted living facility in Kansas City, Missouri. She was last seen leaving on foot and hasn’t been heard from since.

Five years earlier, in 1999, she was attacked in her home – beaten, raped, and robbed. Police got the attacker’s DNA and found out he’d attacked other elderly women too. In 2007, a man named Terry Birmingham was arrested and convicted for the 1999 attack on Cooper.

While it’s unclear if Birmingham is connected to her disappearance, police don’t believe Cooper left on her own or planned to harm herself. Before she vanished, she was active, using public transportation, visiting places like Independence Square, and enjoying cultural events. She hasn’t used her bank accounts or credit cards since 2004.

Although foul play isn’t suspected, police think she might be dead.
