- Crystal Hamilton disappeared in Kentucky in 2003. The last time she was seen was August 20th, after a traffic stop. A relative reported her missing on September 4th.
Weeks later, her car—a silver 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix—was found cut into pieces in a pond. Hamilton wasn’t in the car.
In 2005, four people were arrested: Hamilton’s boyfriend, William Ashley Yeagle; Rodney and Michelle Lyle; and Mary Annette Coy. Police believed her death was connected to meth.
The Lyles eventually pleaded guilty to helping with the murder. They testified against Yeagle, saying he had killed Hamilton using cleaning fluids, mercury, and an electrical cord. Yeagle was convicted of murder and sentenced to 40 years, though he claimed he only helped dispose of the body (which he said he put in a box and dumped in the Green River). The body has never been found.
Coy’s trial was still pending at the time of this summary.
