- Casey disappeared on January 29, 2008. She left home early that morning and security cameras showed her parking her car at the Golden Gate Bridge, walking onto the bridge, and then jumping off. She left a note saying her car was at the bridge.
Casey had a difficult start in life. Born prematurely in Poland, she spent time in an orphanage and her twin sister died at birth. She was adopted and moved to the US.
At the time of her disappearance, Casey was a top student in high school, accepted into her dream college. However, she was stressed by schoolwork and had recently argued with her parents, who grounded her. She’d had emotional problems since middle school, but her family believed her suicide was a sudden, impulsive act, not the result of long-term depression.
Her body was never recovered.
