Details of Disappearance:
Davis disappeared in Los Angeles on June 9, 1982. Her family thinks she might have been killed by the “Grim Sleeper,” a serial killer who murdered several African-American women in the 1980s and again starting in 2002. The Grim Sleeper, Lonnie David Franklin Jr., was caught, convicted, and sentenced to death in 2016 for ten murders, but police believe he may have killed many more. He died in prison in 2020.

Because Davis disappeared around the same time as some of the Grim Sleeper’s killings, and because she shared some characteristics with his known victims (being involved in drugs and prostitution), her family suspects a connection. Police found photos and videos of many women at Franklin’s home, and some missing women were identified through those materials. However, police haven’t confirmed Davis was one of his victims, and her disappearance remains a mystery.
