- Details of Disappearance:
- On January 11, 2011, Smith disappeared from Shepherdsville, Kentucky. He’d had a big fight with his wife earlier that day. Things got so bad she fired a gun to scare him. Later, he crashed his car at a Waffle House and drove off, leaving his wife behind. She reported him to the police for assault and hit and run.
The next day, his wife went home (with police) but Smith and his car were gone. He left behind everything – his wallet, phone, and coat – which was very unusual. His abandoned car was found a few days later in Louisville, near the Ohio River.
Smith was a lawyer who had recently lost his job and was reportedly depressed and had talked about suicide. Because he was from Alabama, police considered the possibility he went back there. While police don’t suspect foul play, his family worries about him, and his disappearance is still a mystery.
