Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Graying brown hair. Ulrich’s nickname is Spike. He wears an upper denture plate and eyeglasses with plastic frames and metal under-rims. He sustained a gash on his head in 1970 which severed several nerves. He has bushy eyebrows and a scar below his left eye. His left ring finger is crippled and not much longer than his pinky finger.
Details of Disappearance:
Ulrich disappeared mysteriously from his home near Uhrichsville, Ohio, on a stormy morning. His wife woke up to find him gone, the front door slightly open, and his pajamas carelessly tossed on the bed – unlike his usual neat habits. He’d left his coffee unmade, skipped his usual routine of waking his wife for her religious TV show, and surprisingly, left his wallet, keys, and even his car behind.

A neighbor saw car lights at Ulrich’s house early that morning, and another saw a man near the road seemingly waiting for a ride. Police and volunteers searched extensively but found nothing.

Two nights earlier, Ulrich had investigated a noise at the front door, armed with a shotgun, but found nothing. It’s unknown if this is connected to his disappearance.

Ulrich was a respected elder at his church, a WWII veteran, and a claims examiner. While his workload had tripled recently, his boss said he seemed normal at work. The night before he vanished, he received a mysterious phone call and mentioned retirement to his wife. He was healthy, happily married, debt-free, and not depressed.

Despite extensive searches, Ulrich was never found. He was declared legally dead in 1980, and his disappearance remains a mystery.
