Details of Disappearance:
On August 10, 1957, Charles Conner was celebrating his birthday at a friend’s house in Lima, Ohio, when he was shot in the head by Ralph Forsythe. Forsythe claimed it was an accident, saying he was joking and the gun was loaded with blanks. However, witnesses saw Forsythe shoot Conner after accusing him of stealing a gun.

Forsythe and his wife disappeared after the shooting, leaving behind a bloody scene. They were later found to have cleaned their car, a Ford Courier, which contained blood. Forsythe was convicted of manslaughter, but the conviction was overturned years later due to legal technicalities. He was released and never revealed what happened to Conner’s body.

A body nicknamed “Mr. Bones,” found in Pennsylvania in 1958, is a possible match for Conner. “Mr. Bones” had also been shot in the head, and his description and a facial reconstruction are similar to Conner. Police are using DNA from a relative to see if there’s a match.

Conner was a factory foreman, recently divorced. His ex-wife, father, and mother have since passed away.
