Details of Disappearance:
In 1986, Cherie lived with her mother, Elizabeth (also called Sissy), and stepfather, Larry, in St. Louis, Missouri. Tragically, Elizabeth was murdered; her body was found in the Mississippi River in February 1987. Cherie was gone.

Police learned Elizabeth worked as a prostitute, forced into it by Larry. It wasn’t until seven years later that Elizabeth and Cherie were officially reported missing.

Cherie was last seen with Larry in Kansas City on January 7, 1987. She vanished. Larry was later caught and imprisoned for armed robbery. Even in prison, he claims to know where Cherie is – he says she’s living under a different name in Kansas City, possibly unaware she’s missing, and being cared for by his relatives. He even tried to sell photos and a recording of Cherie’s voice to her grandmother.

Even though Larry claims to know Cherie’s location, her disappearance is considered a non-family abduction because of the complicated circumstances. The case remains unsolved.
