Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Cherrie has a dog bite scar on her left arm. Her left arm was previously broken below her left shoulder, but the injury had healed before her 1985 disappearance. Cherrie has a cowlick on the right side of her hair. Her hair was slightly longer at the time of her disappearance than in the photographs shown above. Her ears are pierced.

Details of Disappearance:

On February 22, 1985, 10-year-old Cherrie disappeared. She got off her school bus around 4:05 PM in Cabot, Pennsylvania, with three other kids. She was only about 100-150 yards from home when she vanished.

A suspicious bright blue or green 1976 Dodge van, with a painting of a skier on a snowy mountain on both sides, was seen following the school bus. Police aren’t sure if it’s connected, but it’s a lead. A small blue car was also seen nearby.

Cherrie’s mother says she was conceived through rape, but police didn’t pursue that claim. The mother suspects people connected to Cherrie’s father were involved, but the father denies any wrongdoing.

Cherrie was declared legally dead in 1992. Her family donated any money they received to help other missing children. Her case remains unsolved. There’s some confusion about the exact location, with some sources saying Saxonburg instead of Cabot, both in Pennsylvania.
