- Details of Disappearance:
- Christina disappeared on April 28, 1979, in Asotin, Washington. She was at the county fair and called her mom at 2:30 PM feeling sick from the heat. Her mom couldn’t pick her up, so Christina was to rest and come home later. She never called back.
That evening, between 7 PM and 10 PM, Christina was last seen on 2nd Street, heading home on her new white ten-speed bike (possibly a Schwinn) with a basket and special wing nuts on the wheels. The bike is still missing. Her school books were found weeks later at a nearby farm.
Police don’t think she ran away. They think her case might be linked to other unsolved crimes in nearby Lewiston, Idaho: the 1982 disappearance of Steven Pearsall, and the murders of Kristina Nelson and Jacqueline Miller (stepsisters) in 1982, and the 1981 murder of Kristin David. All these crimes involved young people.
A person of interest, who has never been named publicly, is connected to all these cases. He lived near where Christina was last seen, and was at the Lewiston Civic Theater (where Pearsall worked) the night Pearsall disappeared. He’s been questioned many times but says he’s innocent. The cases remain unsolved.
