- Details of Disappearance:
- Christopher and Peggy Lerch vanished from Columbus, Ohio on August 14, 1982. Their friend, William Dean Wickline Jr., was convicted of their murders in 1985. Wickline’s girlfriend said they’d been at his apartment, using drugs and drinking, when an argument broke out over a $6,000 drug debt Christopher owed. She testified that Wickline killed Christopher and then Peggy. He reportedly cut up their bodies and threw them away. Police found blood and human tissue in Wickline’s apartment, but never recovered the bodies. Even though Wickline claimed he was innocent, he was sentenced to death and executed in 2004. Christopher and Peggy are still missing.
