- In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a woman named Elks went missing on August 20, 2004. Her bones were found in February 2009 at a construction site in the West Mesa area. Sadly, many other women’s bodies were found there too. Police identified eleven other victims: Jamie Barela, Monica Candelaria, Victoria Chavez, Virginia Cloven, Syllannia Edwards, Doreen Marquez, Julie Nieto, Veronica Romero, Evelyn Salazar, Michelle Valdez, and Michelle Valdez’s unborn baby. The police are still trying to solve these murders.
