- Details of Disappearance:
- In October 1984, a woman named Grunst disappeared. She was hitchhiking from Joplin, Missouri, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she lived and was looking for a job. The last time anyone saw her, she was getting into a truck driven by a man from Milwaukee near Joplin.
The next day, she made a phone call from Pittsburg, Kansas, but hasn’t been seen or heard from since. She had a lot of cash and a new expensive coat when she left, leading her mother to believe she was robbed.
Police talked to the truck driver, but couldn’t prove he did anything wrong. Grunst had hitchhiked before and visited truck stops across the country, so it’s not unusual she’d be traveling this way. Her mother sadly believes she is deceased.
