Details of Disappearance:: Mathiew disappeared from Dana Point, California on December 9, 1997. She was last seen at 7:00 pm. The next day, people think she went kayaking in Dana Point Harbor in a gray kayak with a black seat (see the picture). Her dog, a German Shepherd, was found the day after *that*, muzzled in a cage inside her white Toyota RAV4 (California plates) at Doheny State Park. This is unusual for her, as she loved her dog. It was windy and the water was rough on the day she disappeared, so it’s possible she had an accident while kayaking. Police don’t think anyone harmed her, but her disappearance remains a mystery.
