- Details of Disappearance:
- In October 1982, Streif vanished while visiting her sister in Harker Heights, Texas. She was from New York and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. There’s been no activity on her Social Security number.
Streif was adopted. Her mother passed away in 2004, and her father died in 2011. His will left Streif nothing because he hadn’t contacted her since 1982 and thought she might be dead.
However, there was money from a settlement related to his death. This money was supposed to go to Streif and her two sisters. Her sisters argued Streif was dead and wanted the money for themselves. A judge wouldn’t declare Streif legally dead, but ruled she shouldn’t get the money because she hadn’t spoken to her father for almost 30 years.
