Details of Disappearance:
Consuelo disappeared from her home in Lacey, Washington, around April 25, 1993 (some records say May 1st). She lived there with her husband, Mark, and their two young children. Consuelo was a close and loving mother who regularly contacted family in California and the Philippines – she would never leave without telling them.

Her husband, Mark, never reported her missing. Her sister in California reported her disappearance on July 2, 1993, after months of not hearing from Consuelo and receiving a letter from Mark saying she’d left. Mark claimed Consuelo simply walked away.

Police suspect Consuelo was murdered. Mark is considered a prime suspect. Their marriage was violent; Consuelo’s mother saw at least one attack. After Consuelo vanished, police found Mark had replaced the carpeting and repainted their house.

In 2002, Mark was jailed for 20 years for shooting a cab driver and stealing the cab. Police found a map from 1993 and other suspicious items in the stolen cab. In 2008, he wrote a long letter denying involvement, claiming Consuelo was depressed and might have killed herself, but there’s no evidence of this.

Consuelo’s disappearance remains a mystery. No one has been charged, but in 2008, a death certificate was issued, stating she likely died from a homicide.
