- In July 2000, a taxi driver named Dutton disappeared from Long Beach, Mississippi. He was last seen at home on July 8th. He left a note saying he’d be gone a few days, but never returned.
Five days later, his taxi was found in Florida, hundreds of miles away. His belongings were in the car, but there was no sign of him. Oddly, the hotel staff found the cab and called his taxi company instead of the police.
Before he disappeared, Dutton was in debt – his bank account was overdrawn, and his credit cards were maxed out. He also took a .22 caliber gun that belonged to his father. He was a quiet person who didn’t usually travel long distances.
Despite investigations, no one knows what happened to Dutton. His case remains a mystery. His parents have since passed away, leaving the case unresolved.
