- Details of Disappearance:
- In 2001, Danielle, a popular Tate High School cheerleader in Pensacola, Florida, enjoyed dancing and drawing. She had friends who, according to her family, might have been a bad influence.
The last time anyone saw Danielle was at a party at Robert Bassett Jr.’s house in Cantonment. Witnesses left, leaving Danielle alone with Bassett, a man in his mid-twenties. After Danielle disappeared, Bassett allegedly threatened someone else and stalked them for days. He was arrested, but never charged in connection with Danielle’s disappearance. Police searched his house, but wouldn’t say what they found.
On September 30th, 2001 (some records say the 28th), Danielle was seen at a park near Bassett’s house.
Before she vanished, Danielle dated Alfredo Sanchez Jr., who was later convicted of molesting her. In 2007, Sanchez was charged with lying to police about his whereabouts when Danielle disappeared. His story changed, but he was never linked to her disappearance.
Danielle’s disappearance is officially considered a runaway, but police now suspect foul play. She might have gone to Panama City, New Orleans, or Alabama, or she might still be in the Pensacola area. The case remains unsolved.
