- Two blonde, blue-eyed women, Sheila Franks (37) and another woman named Bertolini, vanished from Fortuna, California, within days of each other in early 2014. They knew similar people and were last seen by the same man, who police are investigating.
Later, Bertolini’s skull was found near the Eel River, and police think she was murdered. Years later, a bone from Sheila Franks was found further down the same river. While they don’t know exactly how Franks died, her death is also considered suspicious.
Police think the disappearances and deaths might be connected, but both cases are still mysteries.
