- On October 14, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., a man named Hall was dropped off to go ginseng hunting near Sam Beaty Road. A hunter saw him later that day in a hunting blind on a hill. That’s the last anyone saw of him. His girlfriend reported him missing three days later. Searchers found some of his belongings – his hat, a candy wrapper, and a bag of his favorite M&M’s – but nothing else. Nobody knows what happened to him, and the case is still a mystery.
