- Auck vanished in Fort Hall, Idaho on October 15, 2014. Someone told police that Anthony Ish had shot him after a fight. Police found blood, bullet casings, and a live bullet at Ish’s house. Ish was arrested, first for assault, but later charged with murder.
Even though Auck’s body wasn’t found right away, several witnesses testified at Ish’s 2017 trial that they saw Ish shoot Auck. Ish’s own uncle said he helped Ish get rid of the body. Ish was found guilty of murder and assault.
Auck’s body was finally found in the fall of 2018 and identified in 2019. His family will have a special ceremony to remember him.
