His eyes may appear green. He has fractured his right arm and has a scar on his right elbow. He sustained injuries in a car accident in 1964; as a result, Thomson’s left leg is three-eighths of an inch shorter than his right leg, and his left arm was foreshortened when his left shoulder shattered. His nickname is Chris and he may go by his middle name, Bird.

Details of Disappearance:

James Thomson disappeared in 1979. He was last seen near Highway 7 and Williston Road in Minnetoka, Minnesota, with just a backpack. He held short-term jobs in Colorado and Wyoming later that year, but nobody knows exactly when, and he’s been missing ever since.

Before he vanished, Thomson was a writer and journalist who lived in Europe. He’d just published a book about a man trying to live off the land like a pioneer, but struggling with modern life. His family thinks he might have tried to do that himself, disappearing to live in the wilderness.

Even though he disappeared in Minnesota, Texas authorities are helping to find him.
