Details of Disappearance:

In 1988, two men, Rhodes and Block, vanished from their Fort Lauderdale apartment. Their belongings were mostly left behind, but their air conditioning was on, suggesting a quick return. Sixteen years later, another man, Mark Jackson, disappeared from the same building under similar circumstances: all three men were gay, left behind most of their possessions, and had links to drugs.

This isn’t an isolated incident. Several other gay men disappeared from the same area around the same time, with some also having ties to drugs. These disappearances are clustered together, suggesting a possible connection.

Two of these disappearances – those of Michael Wachholtz and Jason Galehouse – ended tragically. Their murders were linked to Steven Lorenzo and Scott Schweikert, who were convicted of drugging and killing them. Schweikert admitted they targeted gay men, turning them into “sex slaves” and then killing or selling them.

While Lorenzo lived near where Rhodes, Block, and Jackson disappeared, there’s no direct evidence linking him to their cases. However, the similarities in the victims’ profiles (gay men, drug involvement, disappearing from the same area) and the proximity of Lorenzo’s residence have led investigators to explore a possible connection. The cases of Rhodes, Block, and Jackson remain unsolved.
