- Details of Disappearance:
- David disappeared on June 7, 2016, in Whitesville, West Virginia. He lived nearby with his wife, but they were having problems and had separated shortly before he vanished.
David was with three other men trying to steal copper from the Big Branch Mine, a dangerous place sealed since 2012 after a deadly explosion. Two of the men were caught and charged with trespassing. One of them said he was with David inside the mine around 2:30 a.m., but they got separated.
David’s mother said she suggested the copper theft to him, even though he didn’t want to go. Police searched everywhere but couldn’t find him. His disappearance is still a mystery.
