- Details of Disappearance:
- On December 27, 2010, Mark Mekvold disappeared. He was last seen at his job at Standard Insurance in Portland, Oregon, around 1 p.m. He spoke to his wife at 1:30 p.m., and the call seemed normal. Then, he vanished.
Some of his belongings were missing from his desk, and his lunch was left uneaten. Later that day, his gray 1998 Mazda pickup truck (Oregon license plate WJP493) was found abandoned in a remote, wooded area in Washington state. Police searched the area thoroughly but found no trace of him.
Investigators couldn’t find any evidence that he was harmed, but also couldn’t explain why he disappeared. The mystery of what happened to Mark Mekvold remains unsolved.
