On Sunday, April 6, 1975, after arguing with her husband, a woman named Oliverson went for a bike ride on her yellow ten-speed bicycle to her parents’ house in Grand Junction, Colorado, to calm down. She never arrived.

The next day, her bike and sandals were found near a bridge by the Colorado River – along the route she should have taken.

Before he was executed in 1989, serial killer Ted Bundy confessed to killing Oliverson. He said he kidnapped her, killed her in his car near the Utah border, and threw her body into the Colorado River.

Oliverson’s body has never been found, but because of Bundy’s confession, she’s considered one of his victims, along with many other women whose bodies have also never been recovered.
