Details of Disappearance:

On March 2, 1989, a mother named Fagot and her young son, Daniel, vanished from their Lancaster, California apartment. Fagot’s boyfriend saw them last when he left for work. A few hours later, Fagot’s sister found the apartment’s front door open and a sliding glass door slightly ajar, even though it was cold outside. There was a muddy footprint and a messed-up closet door in Daniel’s room, suggesting a break-in.

Although police initially thought Fagot left willingly, they now suspect something bad happened. Nothing was missing—no clothes, no personal belongings, even Daniel’s car seat and diaper bag were left behind. Fagot’s car was still parked outside. She’d paid her bills and had no travel plans.

Fagot had recently moved to Lancaster to be closer to family after separating from Daniel’s father, who lived in Orange County. Police questioned him, and ten years later, he failed a lie detector test about the disappearance. However, there wasn’t enough evidence to arrest him.

To this day, Fagot and Daniel’s disappearance remains a mystery.
