- Kunkel disappeared from Medina, Ohio on May 18, 2010. Eleven years later, in May 2021, his bones were found near Portage Lakes in the 5000 block of Manchester Road. His wallet, phone, and a shotgun were found with him. Police identified the remains as Kunkel’s, and they think he died by suicide.
