- Desiree disappeared on August 15, 1996, from Hialeah Gardens, Florida. She left with a 46-year-old man named Miguel Angel Pieri, telling her family they were just friends and she was going to Las Vegas for a short time before moving to California. Her family didn’t approve and begged her not to go, but she left anyway, promising to call from Las Vegas. She never called and hasn’t been seen since. Pieri is also missing. Even though Desiree is officially listed as a runaway, police are worried about her because of the circumstances, and her case is still a mystery.
