Details of Disappearance:
Dubose vanished in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 25, 1992. She was homeless and struggling with drug addiction. Her sister reported her missing because she didn’t pick up her Social Security check, something she always did.

Dubose spent time in areas around West Trade Street, Tryon Street, and Rozzelles Ferry Road in Charlotte, and knew another woman, Rita Maxwell, who also disappeared in 1992 and was never found.

Police think Dubose and Maxwell may have been killed by a serial killer, Henry Louis Wallace. In 1994, Wallace confessed to killing eleven women in Charlotte, all African-American and many of whom he knew. While he didn’t admit to killing Dubose or Maxwell, they matched the description of his victims.

Dubose’s disappearance is still a mystery, but police suspect she was murdered.
