- On February 15, 2006, a woman named Pierce was last seen in Palm Springs, California. She and her boyfriend were at the Spa Resort Casino and went back to separate hotel rooms around 2:30 a.m. Pierce vanished, and no one has heard from her since. The next day, her car was discovered empty in a deserted area near Sugarloaf Mountain on Highway 74. Police found no clues at the scene, and the mystery of what happened to Pierce remains unsolved.
