- Details of Disappearance:
- On November 18, 2007, Hopson disappeared from her home near Mabank, Texas. She told her daughter she’d be mowing the lawn and that a friend, Burris, would be fixing her lawnmower. Burris’s sister saw them together at Hopson’s house that afternoon, but Burris was alone at his own home an hour later.
Hopson’s daughter found a lot of blood on the porch the next day and called the police. It looked like a violent struggle had taken place. Hopson’s cars, keys, purse, and phone were all still at her house, but there were drag marks, suggesting someone had been dragged to a vehicle.
Neighbors heard a loud argument at Hopson’s house that night. Burris’s truck was the last one seen there, and police found blood in his truck. Although Hopson’s body was never found, Burris was arrested, convicted of her murder, and is pictured with this summary. He’d known Hopson for 15 years.
