- Maria Rojas vanished from Houston in July 1993. Two years later, a hunter found her skull in a nearby county. Police later found a few other bones, but not enough to be sure it was her. It wasn’t until August 2005 that they finally confirmed it was Rojas. Because of this, her death is still being investigated as a murder until investigators know otherwise.
