Details of Disappearance:
Mooney disappeared in Mabank, Texas, sometime in the fall of 1961. Her husband said she left a note saying she was leaving him. They fought a lot, sometimes violently, and she’d left before, so her family believed him at first.

Mooney’s family hasn’t heard from her since she vanished, except for maybe one letter from her mother received around that time. The mother wasn’t sure if Mooney actually wrote it—the handwriting looked more like her son-in-law’s.

Someone may have seen Mooney in Hughes Springs, Texas, in the early 1970s, but it’s not certain.

Mooney’s disappearance is a mystery, and police think she may have been harmed.
