On December 15, 2016, Hughes disappeared from Upper Burrell Township, Pennsylvania. The last time anyone saw her, she was getting into an older, red car—maybe a Chevrolet Cavalier—driven by a blonde, white woman. Hughes hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Before she vanished, she often spent time in the Homewood area of Pittsburgh. There’s not much information about what happened to her.
