Sage disappeared on November 20th. She and McFadden had been in contact and had a secret meeting planned near the train station. She was secretly paid by McFadden to keep their relationship hidden from his girlfriend. Sage was never seen again, and police are investigating her disappearance as a murder.

McFadden vanished two days later, on November 23rd. His girlfriend reported him missing the following day. He contacted the police from New York, claiming he didn’t know what happened to Sage, then refused to return to Virginia. Later, he emailed his girlfriend, saying Sage had been blackmailing him and that he had met with her the day she disappeared, but didn’t know what became of her. This was the last anyone heard from him.

It wasn’t until June 2019, over six years later, that McFadden’s mother officially reported him missing, believing his father had already done so. Both his mother and stepmother believe he’s likely dead.

McFadden is considered a key suspect in Sage’s disappearance and death. Police have no leads on his whereabouts, and he may have traveled to various locations in the eastern U.S., or even the West Coast. Both cases remain unsolved.
