Details of Disappearance:
Louise disappeared on June 21, 1979, from her home in East Liverpool, Ohio. She was last seen around 2:00 p.m., after leaving with Robert Wooten, the husband of a friend. Wooten said Louise’s friend wanted to see her. Louise promised to be back by 10:00 p.m., but she never returned.

The next day, Wooten told Louise’s family she’d run away. But her family didn’t believe this because she left behind her purse, money ($300-$500), makeup, and toothbrush. She was also waiting for a gravestone for her stillborn baby.

Two days after Louise vanished, police talked to Debbie Taylor, a friend of Louise’s and Wooten’s sister-in-law. Taylor initially denied knowing Louise, then admitted they were friends but claimed she didn’t know where Louise was. Tragically, Taylor, her five-year-old son, and three-year-old daughter were murdered a few days later. Wooten confessed to these killings and is serving three life sentences.

A year later, an anonymous letter implicated Wooten in Louise’s disappearance. The letter led police to Wooten’s old house, where they found Louise’s clothes hidden in the basement. Despite this evidence, Wooten denies involvement and has never been officially charged with her disappearance, though foul play is strongly suspected. He remains in prison.
