- Ezra’s mom, Terumi Kakiuchi, was arrested for hurting Ezra’s dad, Samuel Lui, so Samuel got full custody of Ezra. They lived in California. One night in November 1999, Samuel let Terumi visit Ezra, but she ran away with Ezra to Japan. No one has good photos or information about Terumi; she might also use the name Satori Kawamura. Samuel tried to get Japanese courts to help him, and they said he was Ezra’s dad, but they only let him see Ezra for three hours each year. He hasn’t seen Ezra since 2004, even though he says he kept paying for Ezra’s care. Ezra is thought to be living with his mom in Osaka, Japan.
