- In the summer of 2002, a retired railroad worker named Caballero disappeared from his boarding house on Chicago’s southeast side. He’d been staying with a family who were planning a vacation in August, and they argued about whether he should come along. After the argument, he vanished. This wasn’t his first disappearance; earlier that month, he was reported missing, found by police, and checked out healthy at a hospital. Since disappearing again, he hasn’t touched his bank accounts. Police think he might be in trouble, but they don’t suspect anyone harmed him. The mystery of his disappearance remains unsolved.
