- Details of Disappearance:
- Moon disappeared in October 1999. Her boyfriend, Michael, said he dropped her off at her mom’s house, but her mom said she never showed up. Moon left everything behind – her purse, clothes, even her ID. She had no car or job, and relied on child support checks, the last of which she never cashed. While she sometimes disappeared for a few days, she always came back and kept in touch with family.
Less than a month later, Michael was killed in a shootout with police. He was already a suspect in another death and was the prime suspect in Moon’s disappearance. Moon had drug problems, but her daughter says she was a good person who made bad choices. Because of her struggles, her two young children often stayed with relatives.
To this day, no one knows what happened to Moon.
