- On September 6, 2006, Leonetti’s mom dropped her off at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Leonetti, who had recently had a baby, was trying to get clean from drugs and alcohol. A few nights later, her boyfriend called to say she was having a meltdown and he’d put her in a cab to go home. But she never arrived.
Leonetti had a difficult past: she ran away a lot as a teen, had a drug problem, and had been arrested. She was also trying to stay clean and was living with her aunt.
Her mother reported her missing in late October. Even more disturbing, after Leonetti disappeared, her boyfriend bought things like lye, a chainsaw, and blood cleaning kits. Leonetti’s mom believes her boyfriend killed her, but he hasn’t been charged. Police have looked into several leads, but the case remains unsolved.
