- Details of Disappearance:
- Dorothy disappeared from her Nashua, New Hampshire home on October 3, 1973. She lived with her husband, Kenneth, and their daughter. Kenneth said he fell asleep while watching TV around 11:30 pm and woke up to find Dorothy gone. He reported her missing the next morning.
Dorothy left behind almost all her possessions, only taking a small purse. Her family says she would have contacted them if she left willingly. She was very stressed because of her child’s health problems and told her mother she feared for her life. Kenneth had filed for divorce a month before her disappearance. The divorce was finalized after she vanished, and he later remarried (and then divorced again).
Dorothy’s son was living with his grandmother at the time. Police reopened the case in 2007, but Dorothy has never been found. Her parents are now deceased, and her son’s location is unknown. Police suspect foul play.
