Distinguishing Characteristics:

Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Brown hair, blue eyes. Kirk had a mustache at the time of his 1995 disappearance. He has a gap between his upper front teeth, a cleft in his chin and slight scarring near the area of his right eye. Kirk had reconstructive surgery to repair his facial bones with metal screws and plates as the result of a 1989 automobile accident. As a result of the accident, his face is fragile and a hard blow to that area could kill him. His nickname is Doug and some agencies refer to him as Douglas Gene Kirk.

Details of Disappearance:

Kirk disappeared in Arkansas in August 1995. His family last saw him on August 3rd. He went to a concert in Little Rock on August 5th with a friend, stayed at a motel, but never showed up to meet his girlfriend that night. His family wasn’t worried at first because he was supposed to go to California for work. They reported him missing on August 18th.

Kirk borrowed his boss’s truck (a white 1994 Nissan pickup) and lost the keys. His friend gave him another set, and that was the last time she saw him. The truck was found abandoned in California a month later, but there was no sign of Kirk. Police and his family don’t think he drove it there himself.

Kirk was a single dad doing carpentry work and was involved in the drug scene. His family believes someone harmed him, and they worked to improve Arkansas’s missing persons system after his disappearance. His case is still unsolved.
