- Pearse vanished from Modesto, California on April 21, 2005. He was supposed to volunteer at two schools the next day but never showed up. Nobody has heard from him since.
A few days later, his truck was found burned and stuck in the mud in the mountains near Mariposa. Pearse wasn’t there. Police think the fire was an accident and that he might have gotten lost trying to walk out of the mountains after his truck got stuck, but they’re not sure. There’s no real evidence to explain what happened.
Pearse was a retired engineer who loved volunteering at schools. He was healthy and didn’t have any memory problems. The mystery of his disappearance remains unsolved.
